What happens when you bring 245 brilliant minds from 36 different countries into one room? Pure magic (and a whole lot of creative chemistry).
On August 27, 2026, we officially kicked off the MSc Marketing 2026–2027 cohort at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam (VU School of Business and Economics). With 51% international representation and backgrounds ranging from Psychology and Sociology to Economics and Media, this group is uniquely wired to shape the future of marketing.
It was also wonderful to see so many people join us in support:
- Our wonderful colleagues from the best Marketing Department ever: Emile Lancée, Ingmar Leijen, Kobe Millet, Peeter Verlegh, Yuri Peers, Ruud Frambach, Anastasia Brugman Dikareva, Nico Schauerte, Martijn Veltkamp, Gökçe Evran Mağden
- Student support & associations: Anna Bakken, Ximena Quesada Avila, Naz Koksal, Taire Agostini (MIMS Mentoring for International Master Students), Tamar Pagrach (SBE Career Services), VU Academic Advisors, Mirthe Chung (Study Association Aureus), Raphaël Taisne (MAA Marketing Association Amsterdam)
The Marshmallow Challenge
We couldn’t start the year without putting team dynamics to the test! For the first time ever, students took on the Marshmallow Challenge.
The task? Build the tallest freestanding structure using only spaghetti, tape, string, and a single marshmallow, all in just 18 minutes.
This wasn't just a fun; it was a masterclass in rapid prototyping and problem-solving under pressure. We're proud of all teams! The winning team has built an impressive 68cm tall structure!
Now we're fully ready to start off the year!
