Available Grants
This year, we are offering two types of financial support:
- Seed Money: Three projects will be awarded up to €10,000 each.
- Booster Grant: One project will be awarded up to €20,000.
Interdisciplinary Collaboration
The program is open to research revolving around sustainability challenges, from the natural causes of climate change to behavioral science. Recent winning projects have focused on AI-driven diet policies, climate education at VU, and transformative learning tools. To date, the program has supported 33 projects involving over 100 researchers.
What’s new?
While the name has changed from ‘Seed Money’ to ASI Grants Programme, our mission remains the same: facilitating research ranging from climate change and biodiversity to socio-economic transformations. These grants are intended for projects that strengthen the connections between VU faculties, other universities, and societal partners.
Why apply?
Over the years, the programme has enabled 37 successful projects involving more than 100 researchers. Previous winners have published in top-tier academic journals, produced influential reports, and significantly expanded their professional networks through these collaborations. It is the perfect springboard for interdisciplinary teams to scale their ideas into larger, externally funded research programs.
