Learning objectives are an important concept in education. They are used frequently, sometimes appropriately and sometimes not.
Many people believe that students should explicitly know the learning objectives of their courses because this would support the learning process. Unfortunately, according to Kirschner and Neelen (2021), this is a misconception. Fortunately, there are alternatives, such as so-called focus objectives.
