Open Science is an international movement that makes scientific knowledge openly available, accessible and reusable for everyone. The OSCAwards celebrate the many ways of contributing to open science and transparent research culture. Researchers, educators, support staff and students are invited to submit case studies describing their completed or ongoing projects, contributions by teams are particularly encouraged.
Categories and evaluation criteria
There are eight prizes of €400,- in four different categories of Open Science. The categories are:
- Open Access / Open Data / Open Materials / Open Software
- Transparency / Metascience / Preregistration / Reproducibility
- Citizen Science / Societal Impact / Community Engagement
- Open Educational Resources / Open Educational Practices
The jury will judge entries based on their adherence to the following criteria:
- Alignment with Open Science values
- Potential to improve science or benefit society
- Potential to foster diversity and inclusion
- Sustainability
Important dates
- Submission deadline: Monday, May 11, 4 PM
- Award ceremony: Monday, June 15, Chirurgisch Theater, University Library of Amsterdam (UBA)
About OSCA
The OSCAwards are an initiative of the Open Science Community Amsterdam (OSCA). OSCA is a partnership between the AUAS, UvA, VU, and the Student Initiative for Open Science (SIOS). OSCA is part of the larger Open Science Community Network the Netherlands (OSC-NL). The goal of the Open Science Community is to create a platform for researchers and students from all institutes and faculties to interact and learn from each other about Open Science practices.
