Aurora call for nominations: Community of Practice (CoP) Awards

The Aurora Central Office invites you to submit nominations for the Community of Practice (CoP) Awards.

These awards recognise outstanding achievements, innovative practices, and inspiring individuals or teams involved in Aurora’s Communities of Practice. The aim is to celebrate excellence, share best practices, and promote Aurora’s core values of collaboration, societal impact, and sustainability.

To date, there are 10 registered CoPs:

1. Permahaven Research Group (PRG)
2. Peace in Practice Across Universities
3. Supporting Doctoral Researchers and Supervisors
4. The seizmic Community of Practice: Social Entrepreneurship Education, Impact Competencies, and Systemic Change
5. Co-Creating Global Education: The Aurora Internationalisation of the Curriculum CoP
6. INSIGHTS
7. LOUIS: Learning Outcomes in University for Impact on Society
8. Low-Dimensional Materials for Advanced (Bio)Sensing
9. Aurora Research Managers
10. South-South and Triangular Cooperation on Food Systems and Climate Change (SSTC- FSCC)

Who can nominate:

• Anyone observing and/or experiencing the work or practices of a CoP can nominate, including staff, students, coordinators, work package leaders, task teams, CoP leads, and partner institutions.
• Please note that CoP members may not self-nominate.

About the awards:

• Winners will be recognised at a special ceremony and will share short insights into their work and experiences.

Nomination deadline:

• Friday, 17 April 2026

Your nomination should include:

• The individual, team, achievement or practice you are nominating
• Share your motives for this nomination (e.g. demonstrable value-driven actions, sustainability, innovation, impact, collaboration, creativity)
• The relevant Community of Practice
• A short testimonial (max. 150 words)
