On Saturday 4 October 2025, VU University Amsterdam will open its doors during the Weekend of Science.
In the brand new VO Research Building, visitors will have a unique opportunity to experience the world of science up close. Researchers from the Faculty of Science will show how their work contributes to our understanding of nature, technology and life around us.
There is plenty to discover during the day:
- Interactive experiments - Take part yourself and experience how scientists conduct research, from molecules to ecosystems.
- Wide range of disciplines - Experience research from physics, astronomy, mathematics, chemistry, neuroscience, computer science, earth sciences and ecology.
- Science for all - Discover how research directly affects our daily lives and helps tackle big challenges of the future.
- Inspiring experiences - See lasers in action, learn more about how your brain works, see living cells or explore the earth beneath your feet.
