Two VU teams, consisting of Lukas Kompatcher and Luuk Hoekstra, first year BSc CS students and Peter Gabriel (BSc Business Analytics), Alan Edwin (BSc CS) and Jotan Stoel (Bsc AI) participated together with other 10 teams in the qualifiers of the yearly NXP intelligent car race competition.
The teams ended on the first and third place. Lukas and Luuk were the winners and will represent The Netherlands at the finals on 14 May in Eindhoven. The spark was lit during the course Pervasive computing coordinated by Natalia Silvis-Cividjian. What followed was a super steep learning experience in the ASE lab, under the professional supervision of Max Gallup and Elias Groot (both Computer Security students), who built the Rover and won the competition last year. We are grateful to our Beta Electronic and Fine Mechanics groups for their continuous support.
