VU teacher Wiebe de Jong published an article in Trouw this weekend, reflecting on his volunteer work in a hospice. Titled“Als je niets meer voor een stervende kan doen, kan je altijd nog iets doen” (If you can’t do anything more for someone who’s dying, you can still do something).
In the article, Wiebe follows Aad, a 77-year old patient who stays in the hospice. Wiebe aims to show that the little things have great importance when people suffer severely.
