The results will be used to refine the procedures for salary classification and appointments to ensure equal pay and prevent potential inequalities in the future. "Equal pay for equal work is a key value of our university. While we see progress, we remain committed to further improvements. This study helps us take targeted steps and make our processes fairer and more transparent," said Executive Board President Margrethe Jonkman.
Building on a previous analysis from 2017, this study shows that salary differences have decreased but still persist, varying across faculties. In the coming period, these salary differences will be analyzed at the faculty level and adjusted where necessary. Alongside areas for improvement, the study also highlights a positive trend: the proportion of women in senior positions has increased since 2016. The study is conducted every three years to monitor progress and refine policies as needed to eliminate biases in salary structures. It aligns with the university’s core value of fostering an inclusive work environment where equal opportunities and fair compensation take priority.
The research examined the roles of lecturer, researcher, assistant professor, associate professor, and full professor, analyzing salary data from the HR system, including job level, gender, age, and faculty.
