Two top programmes within FSG: PPE and Literature and Society

27 November 2025
The Keuzegids Universities 2026 has recognised two bachelor’s programmes from the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities as Top Programmes: Philosophy, Politics and Economics (PPE) and Literature and Society.

For Philosophy, Politics and Economics, this is the third consecutive year the programme has received the quality seal, and this year with its highest score ever.
“That PPE receives the Top Programme quality seal for the third year in a row, and this year with the highest score ever, is a wonderful recognition of the high-quality multi- and interdisciplinary education PPE offers. It serves not only as confirmation of our achievements but also as a stimulus for everyone at the John Stuart Mill College to maintain this success in the future.”

The bachelor’s programme Literature and Society is new to the list of top programmes. Students highly appreciate the programme, which the team attributes to its focus on creative writing in both the Dutch and English tracks. In addition, students are encouraged to become sharp and critical thinkers, while being well prepared for a changing job market.
“What a great compliment for our lecturers! It’s fantastic that students value our programme so highly. It’s probably because both the English and Dutch tracks focus on creative writing, but also because we encourage students to think critically and prepare them as best as possible for the changing labour market.”

These recognitions highlight the quality and dedication of our lecturers and the innovative character of our programmes.
