The 2025 Cosmos Book Prize awarded

The Cosmos Book Prize is an annual award for the best popular science book in the Netherlands, designed to encourage students to read popular science books.

For the 2025 edition, a student jury consisting of fifty students from the Netherlands (HAVO, VWO, MBO3, and MBO4) aged 15 to 18 chose “De klopjacht op donkere materie" by Dorine Schenk as the winner of the student prize.

The jury prize, awarded by an interdisciplinary panel of experts consisting of VU mathematician Senja Barthel, VU computer science education expert Felienne Hermans, Radboud physicist Manus Visser, and Utrecht physicist Stefan Vandoren, went to Zoë Schlanger for the book “Lichteters".
