As of 1 June, Stefan Schlobach and Cristiano Giuffrida have been appointed Full Professors by the rector of the university, to the chairs of "Knowledge in Artificial Intelligence" (KAI) and "Hardware Security," respectively.
Both Stefan Schlobach and Cristiano Giuffrida have been longstanding members of the department and have made substantial contributions over the years. They have each supervised numerous PhD students, secured prestigious funding—such as the Zwaartekracht Hybrid Intelligence and NWO Zorro projects for Stefan, and the VENI grant, VMWare Early Career Faculty Grant, and the Dutch Prize for ICT Research for Cristiano—and taken on key responsibilities within the department.
Among his many contributions, Stefan has served as Head of Department, a highly demanding leadership role. Cristiano, meanwhile, has played a pivotal role in the remarkable growth and international recognition of the VUSec group.
