This year, no fewer than eleven projects have been awarded a grant. From AI literacy and impactful tutorials to practice-oriented learning, the projects explore themes such as role models, interdisciplinary collaboration, and creative teaching methods. Together, the winners make a valuable contribution to the future of education at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam.
The 2025 winners and their projects are:
- Annemiek Hammer (Faculty of Humanities, Language, Literature and Communication) – Learning to Make an Impact: Developing Impact Tutorials for the Master’s Programme in Linguistics.
- Elza van Deel and Simone Kerstin (Medicine, Physiology) – The Power of Role Models: Changing Perspectives on People with Health Conditions.
- Giulia Sinatti, Ellen Bal, and Flavio Eiro (Faculty of Social Sciences, Social and Cultural Anthropology) – Anthropology Works! Evaluating Stakeholder Engagement in Anthropological Education.
- Laura Rupp (Faculty of Humanities, Language, Literature and Communication) – Investigating the Learning Effects of an Online English Course on Language Attitudes.
- Marieke Toffolo (Faculty of Behavioural and Movement Sciences, Clinical, Neuro- and Developmental Psychology) – Enhancing Generative AI Literacy and Text Comprehension in Written Assignments.
- Lothar Kuijper, Tommy Pattij, and Mathijs Valkering (Health Sciences) – Teach the Bot: Training Students to Educate AI Bots.
- Joana Ozorio de Almeida Meroz and Marilena Meia (Faculty of Humanities, Art and Culture, History and Antiquity) – Addressing Challenges and Exploring Opportunities in Interdisciplinary and Interinstitutional Education.
- Almina Karya Odabasi, Jaro Pichel, and Frederique Demeijer (Faculty of Social Sciences, Organisation Sciences) – The BODY Matters: Embodied Learning as Transformative Pedagogy.
- Barbara Groot-Sluijsmans and Judith Bosmans (Health Sciences) – Collaboration Between Universities Through Living Labs.
- Laura Burgers, Florentina Hettinga, and Dax Houtkamp (Faculty of Behavioural and Movement Sciences, Human Movement Sciences) – Implementing Best Practices to Strengthen Practical Skills and Professional Identity via Interaction with Societal Partners in Applied Exercise Physiology.
- Joris van Wijk (Law, Criminology) – Interactive, Scenario-Based Role-Playing on Climate Change and Conflict: Scaling Up Effectively.
