At SDSN’s New York office, SDSN Netherlands’ chair Bart Bossink joined the annual Network Chairs Meeting and the Leadership Council, convening with fellow national and regional chapters to exchange insights and strengthen collaboration. These meetings focused on critical issues such as sustainable finance, education, trade regimes, and the geopolitical dimensions of sustainability. SDSN Netherlands contributed a European perspective on sustainability policy, which was met with strong engagement from international peers.
Shortly after, Bart and Philipp Pattberg, head of SDSN Netherlands’ expert board, traveled to Japan where together with SDSN Japan, SDSN Netherlands organized the High-Level Roundtable on Beyond 2030: Pathways for transformative change. Hosted at the Inochi Forum at Osaka University, Bart and Philipp joined Norichika Kanie, chair of SDSN Japan, and colleagues to explore how research, education, and innovation can drive the SDGs forward beyond 2030. A special thanks to Professor Takuo Dome for introducing the concept of Inochi - the sanctity of life - a powerful reminder of what’s at stake.
These engagements highlight SDSN Netherlands’ role in connecting Dutch expertise to global sustainability efforts, fostering international partnerships, and contributing to the development of science-based solutions for a more equitable and sustainable future.
