Researching a Paradigm Shift: From Temporary Shelter to Permanent Housing

Share
4 March 2025
Starting in February, anthropologists Nienke Boesveldt and Luisa Schneider from Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam are leading a National Scientific Agenda study on homelessness. Their research focuses on shifting from temporary shelters to permanent housing solutions.

The study aims to map the residential paths of (former) unhoused individuals, examining how they navigate and experience different housing options. Additionally, the team will assess how changes in the Dutch housing system impact these pathways and evaluate the effectiveness of various housing models. A cost-benefit analysis of innovative housing solutions will also be conducted.

For more information, contact Nienke Boesveldt at n.f.boesveldt2@vu.nl.
