The right to freedom of expression, enshrined in Article 19 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR), is the cornerstone of democratic societies. It aims to ensure accountability, foster justice, and preserve human dignity. However, in the human history, one can find multiple examples of when this fundamental right was under attack - a very recent example being the Israel-Palestine conflict.
