On 27 May 2025, the results of the National Student Survey (NSE) were released. What did it reveal? Students are once again positive about their education at VU Amsterdam this year. A nice compliment for everyone who works hard every day to provide good education.
Students gave VU Amsteram a score of 3.9 on the “ Overall rating” section. This puts us in 5th place of all broad universities in the Netherlands. Especially the involvement of lecturers, personal contact, and the content and structure of education stand out - students value these points the most.
Again this year, many students say that, with today's knowledge, they would choose their programme at VU again (3.95 out of 5). A strong signal that we are on the right track.
In total, 7665 VU students completed the survey - that is 23.5% of all students. Rector Jeroen Geurts would like to thank all students who shared their opinions: "It is incredibly valuable to hear how students experience their studies at VU. I am happy with the great ratings, but especially grateful for the feedback that helps us continue to build good and engaged education together.
