Linda Greuter is a PhD candidate in law at the Institute for Legal Gender Studies at Johannes Kepler University Linz, where she also works as a teaching and research assistant.
Her primary research areas include EU migration law, European and international human rights law (specifically focusing on protecting women from gender-specific violence), and legal gender studies. In her doctoral project, which is being supervised by Elisabeth Greif, Linda is examining the framework for independent residence permits for victims of domestic violence under EU secondary law. Her work seeks to reinterpret the provisions governing independent residence permits for EU citizens and third-country nationals through a human rights-based lens.
Linda brings extensive practical experience in migration and asylum law. She has worked with several NGOs, including Caritas and Helping Hands Linz in Austria, as well as Equal Rights Beyond Borders in Greece. She has also worked in legal practice with law firms and at a criminal court in Austria.
During her research visit to the ACMRL in May and June 2025, she will elaborate on the ideas for her final chapter of her forthcoming book.
We’re excited to have Linda with us and look forward to exchanging ideas and knowledge during her time as a visiting researcher!
