As part of the 10th anniversary of the LL.M. in International Migration and Refugee Law at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, Professor Hiroshi Motomura (University of California, Los Angeles – School of Law) delivered a keynote lecture introducing his latest work Borders and Belonging.
In his talk, Professor Motomura reminded students that “the world needs you more than ever,” encouraging them to approach his book not only as an academic contribution but also as a toolkit for constructive engagement in debates on borders and membership. His remarks inspired a lively and critical exchange between students, lecturers and academics on contemporary migration politics in Europe and the United States.
