During last year’s Meet and Match Event, educators, community organizations, and social enterprises filled a room at VU Amsterdam with one shared goal: to explore how education and society can work hand in hand. Participants connected, shared insights, and most importantly, found new ways to collaborate. From a street art workshop that turned VU researchers’ findings into murals throughout the world (link), to a roadmap for ecological restoration (link), to a crash course in how to involve students in real-world challenges (link) collaborations from the past years show just how diverse and impactful CSL can be.
The annual Meet & Match Event is about making connections, but it’s also about collecting and compiling an ever-growing list of real-world challenges that educators and students can tackle together. Each year, these challenges find their way into CSL projects throughout the university, allowing students to work on actual societal issues rather than hypothetical ones.
On April 15, the CSL team will again host the Meet & Match event. The goal will be the same – to identify societal challenges and create connections and ideas to solve them through education and collaboration with societal partners.
