“Laughter is brightest where food is best.” Our ABRI BBQ once again proved that good food, good company, and inspiring conversations are the perfect way to start the academic year and to see old and new faces.
The annual BBQ has become a wonderful tradition that not only brings together colleagues from across our school: marketing, accounting, KIN, OA, M&O and EGS, but also celebrates the outstanding research conducted by our community.
Thus, highlights included the ABRI Best Paper Award ceremony for students and junior faculty. The nominated papers were truly outstanding in both quality and merit, and we are grateful to the jury members for their thoughtful evaluations.
We would like to congratulate: Francesco Balocco (Best Junior Faculty Paper Award) and Yerong Zhang (Best PhD Student Paper Award) once again for their truly amazing work.
We would further like to thank our wonderful jury members who made this possible: Omar Solinger, Katharina Cepa, Victor Gilsing, Ayse Sena Eruguz, Kobe Millet and Eelke Wiersma.
Beyond the recognition, it was a lovely evening filled with conversations, laughter, and a real sense of connection across our different departments.
We’re already looking forward to next year’s BBQ and hope to see many familiar (and new!) faces there!
