In this programme Dutch and English postdocs and assistant professors are matched with a professor or associate professor from a different faculty. Over the course of a year, they meet around five times to discuss topics such as career development, setting priorities between research, education and management, or achieving a healthy work-life balance.
Mentees are expected to have a clear development goal and be motivated to grow in their academic careers. For the mentors, seniority, motivation and coaching skills are all important factors. All participants should be willing to dedicate approximately 10 hours to the programme over the year.
The faculties will decide whether to participate in the programme or not. Faculties have until Monday, 15 September to select and nominate their mentors and mentees.
Are you interested in participating as a mentee? Please contact the HR Advisor of your faculty or the head of your department. The final selection of participants is made by the faculty.
More information about the programme and the application procedure can be found on the page Mentoring programme for talented scientists.
