Lena is a visual artist working primarily with photography, with a focus on everyday life, street scenes, reportage, and portraiture. Her work is deeply informed by her background in anthropology. "Tattoo Narratives" is Lena’s final project for the course "Future Anthropology", which focuses on exploring creative and experimental ways to present anthropological research.
In this series, she explores the stories behind people’s tattoos, how they relate to identity, memory, and the body. The result is a collection of portraits of her research participants, accompanied by pieces of their interviews. Together, they offer a visual and narrative look into the meaning of tattoos.
The event takes place on June 5th at Der Hintergarten (Overschiestraat 188A, Amsterdam Nieuw-West), with a live stream available via Radio Hinter on Intergalactic FM, entry is free and open to everyone.
