One month ago, AIMMS hosted the second edition of the AIMMS Festival, bringing together over 200 researchers and industry leaders at the BIMHUIS for two days of inspiring discussions, interactive workshops, and new collaborations.
Building on our inaugural festival in 2023, this year’s edition once again demonstrated the power of collaboration in molecular science. All AIMMS molecular science groups came together, engaging with leading industry and policy partners—including Johnson&Johnson, Microsoft, KNMI, NVWA, DSM-firmenich, Deloitte, Promega, the Next Food Collective and more — to explore how academic and industrial partnerships can drive innovation and accelerate scientific impact.
Besides a varied mix of keynote speakers and panel discussions, attendees could join interactive parallel workshops, from an AlphaFold tutorial with live experiments to sessions on navigating funding landscapes and innovation strategies. PhD students took on the challenge of delivering 60-second elevator pitches about their research, while teams of the VU-UT hackathon presented bold solutions to pressing scientific challenges.
Beyond the sessions, the festival created a dynamic environment where researchers and industry partners forged new collaborations and exchanged ideas.
