Violence against women and girls takes place in all sorts of places; on the streets, when going out, at work, in public feeds, in education, in healthcare, in student unions, at festivals and in all other places where men and women, boys and girls meet. From sexual harassment to femicide. The theme of Orange the World 2024 is "Safe, Anywhere, Anytime."
On December 5, WO&MEN@VU is organizing a meeting in collaboration with DURF to talk about "Hope and Openness." Marjan Olfers (professor of sports and law and confidential whistleblower VU) kicks off and tells us about her research on transgressive behavior in different sectors. Margrethe Jonkman (chair of the Executive Board) joins her to discuss the implications of the research and the possibilities for more openness on the subject. Discussion leader is Jacquelien van Stekelenburg, professor of Social Change and Conflict.
What in particular can we improve at the university? What does it take to ensure that women feel safe, anywhere, anytime? Come and join the conversation!
