On 29 May 2024, a VU CS student team (Elias Groot, Max Gallup, Eduardo Lira, Hugo van Wezenbeek) participated in a very exciting and competitive intelligent car race organised by NXP in Hamburg. 20 selected teams from 7 countries (Germany, Romania, France, Czech Republic, Zwitserland, Lebanon and The Netherlands) competed and the selfmade VU ASE Rover won. Congratulations! We are very proud and happy about this absolute victory, which was possible only due to many other people. Many thanks go to the CS departement for their financial support, Beta Electronical systems group (especially Niels Althuisius) and Fine mechanics group for their assistance in designing and building the model car, and IXA for providing the space for training. The ASE (Autonomous Systems Engineering) educational initiative is coordinated by Natalia Silvis-Cividjian. Click here for more.
