Three VU-projects selected after first Aurora call for research projects

21 October 2024
Aurora’s call for Incentive and Collaborative Research Projects resulted in seven projects that will receive funding over the next two years

The research proposals funded through this call were evaluated based on several criteria, including scientific quality, originality, and feasibility. Additionally, projects had to show their value for the Aurora 2030 programme, with a focus on building scientific communities and contributing to Aurora hubs, if relevant.

Seven innovative projects have been awarded a total of €104,000 in funding, with an average of €15,000 per project. These projects will start in autumn 2024 and continue for the next two years. VU Amsterdam colleagues are involved in three of these projects:

  1. Tasniem Anwar is the lead for "Speculative Futures: Examining Data-Driven Models in European Security Policies"
  2. Ivar Maas is one of the co-leads for "Research on Deliberation for Ecological and Sustainable Universities"
  3. Marja Lamoree and Sicco Brandsma are co-leads for "Transport and Adsorption Behaviours of Microplastic Fibres in Membrane Biofilm Reactors."

These results mark a strong beginning in promoting meaningful scientific collaboration across Aurora universities. We look forward to what the future will bring!
