Theoretical Chemist Pascal Vermeeren wins KNCV-CTC Best PhD Thesis Award

Dr. Pascal Vermeeren has been awarded the KNCV-CTC Best PhD Thesis Award for his PhD thesis within the Computational and Theoretical Chemistry section of KNCV.

The PhD thesis is titled: “(Astro)Chemistry: From Molecules to Reactions.” Dr. Pascal Vermeeren’s research focuses on understanding chemical processes occurring in astronomical environments by linking them to related terrestrial chemical processes. Vermeeren received his PhD Cum Laude on February 15, 2022, under the supervision of Prof. Dr. F. Matthias Bickelhaupt at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam.

Since October 2022, Dr. Pascal Vermeeren has been appointed as Assistant Professor of Theoretical Chemistry at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. Read more about Dr. Pascal Vermeeren’s research or view his Eye-opener here.
