Sonja van Scheijen wins GSK Sparrow Award at Dutch Lung Congress

Sonja van Scheijen has won the GSK Sparrow Award!

Sonja van Scheijen is a PhD candidate at VU University Amsterdam and Amsterdam UMC. Sonja won this award for the best presentation at the Dutch Lung Congress. She was commended for her research on a faster method to detect antibiotic resistance in cystic fibrosis.

The prize includes €2,000 for professional development and four hours of mentorship from an expert. Next year, Van Scheijen herself will be on the jury. Sonja: "It's great recognition for my work and offers many opportunities for further growth."
