Approximately half of all individuals experience mental health issues at some point in their lives. These issues often have a significant negative impact, and receiving adequate treatment can mitigate some of this impact. However, a substantial portion of people with mental health issues do not receive treatment. Roger Prudon, a researcher in the fields of labor market and healthcare, is investigating whether healthcare interventions can increase the number of people receiving adequate treatment and what the long-term effects of these interventions are on the labor market outcomes of individuals with mental health issues. With the Rubicon grant, he can finance this research.
Roger Prudon states, "I hope this research provides more insight into how individuals with mental health issues can be better assisted. The Rubicon grant enables us to determine what works and what doesn't for this often vulnerable group, using data on their labor market status and healthcare utilization."
