The library tower in the VU Main Building has undergone a major metamorphosis. All study rooms have been renewed in the recent period. We have harnessed the power of books to create a fine study environment and set up special themed libraries together with various VU communities. In addition, we now have the Library Lounge as a place for meeting. We would like to celebrate the festive reopening of the UB Tower with you on 27 February.
The University Library (UB) and the Facility Campus Organisation (FCO) of VU University Amsterdam would like to invite you to the official reopening of the UB Tower.
With all afternoon activities including:
- an artistic unveiling
- guided tours by library staff
- exhibition on the history of the University Library
- opening symposium Mindful Library
- opening Library Lounge & retrospective Rebooking - 'The new lives of books'
- themed libraries
- lecture on the architectural history of the UB tower
