"While we respect the decision to cancel the demonstration on 14 November, we feel deep disappointment that our voice cannot be heard. Together with many of you – students, lecturers, and all staff – we wanted to express our serious concerns about the far-reaching consequences of these cuts. These measures affect us all deeply, both in our daily work and in the future of our university and the wider academic community. The quality of our education, the opportunities for innovative and groundbreaking research, and our university's position in society are at stake. Many jobs are now suddenly at risk. We can not and must not ignore this. We are actively searching for an alternative moment when we can come together, visibly and with one strong voice, to express our concerns. We will keep you updated on developments and will not give up. These cuts must be overturned."
