Researchers Lianne Cremers and Cato Janssen will present their film 'Loose Ends' at Rialto VU on Wednesday, May 22 from 7:30 PM to 9:30 PM. This ethnographic film, based on the EU-funded HERoS research, delves into the COVID-19 crisis response and organizational trauma in nursing homes. After the film there will be a Q&A session with the directors and drinks.
The film dives into the disaster that occurred in nursing homes during the corona pandemic. Nursing home workers saw how elderly people died massively and abruptly, often without being able to say goodbye to their loved ones. There were no tests or protective equipment available. Employees faced impossible choices. How do you take into account measures such as one and a half meters of distance when you have to wash and dress the elderly? How do you provide good care and prevent the elderly from dying?
