The Department of Physics and Astronomy of VU University Amsterdam has learned with regret of the sudden and unexpected death of former Endowed Professor Harold Linnartz (* 16 October 1965) on 31st of December 2023.
Prof. Harold Linnartz had in the period 2003 - 2005 an affiliation as a Senior researcher at Laser Centre Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, and 2008 - 2013 a Special Chair appointment for Molecular Laboratory Astrophysics in the Department of Physics and Astronomy.
In 2011 Harold was appointed as Full Professor at Astrophysics Laboratory at Leiden University.
