04 September 2024

The first thirty participants in the Taalschakeltraject Amsterdam (TSA) received their integration diplomas on August 30 at a festive gathering that included Marjolein Moorman, alderperson for a.o. Education and Civic Integration. TSA is provided by VU Amsterdam and HvA.

After intensive language and other courses of about two years, the graduates completed their integration pathway. This educational pathway is called the Onderwijsroute in the Inburgeringswet: the pathway for status holders who want to study. Alderman Moorman: “This graduation ceremony for the first batch is an important milestone in the implementation of the new integration system, but it is especially a personal milestone for all participants. They have worked extremely hard to complete the most ambitious route in the new civic integration system so that they can now move on to Dutch studies at mbo, hbo or wo level. Congratulations!”

The VU Amsterdam (VU-NT2 en VASVU) en the HvA provide the TSA-Onderwijsroute on behalf of Amsterdam and surrounding municipalities. Currently, there are about 250 participants who will also study at one of the educational institutions in the coming years.
