Since September 2023, the joint VU-UvA Taskforce on AI in Education has been addressing the opportunities and challenges of artificial intelligence (AI) in education.
This task force, composed of eight experts from diverse disciplines, has worked hard to develop three key recommendations, now approved by the Executive Board. These recommendations set a course for the responsible and future-ready use of AI in education:

- Technical, legal, and ethical AI checklist
How to choose the right AI tools? The taskforce provides a practical checklist to critically evaluate vendors and AI applications for responsible adoption. - Conditions for exploratory AI research
What are the opportunities and risks of AI in education? The taskforce encourages exploratory research to establish safe and ethical guidelines for AI in education. - AI literacy for teachers and students
AI is becoming a must-have skill. The taskforce recommends professional development for teachers to guide students in the ethical and field-specific use of this technology.
