In February, Gea Dreschler and Abby Gambrel led a workshop on the VU Education Day called ‘The Death of the Thesis?’. With a big group of teachers and staff from various faculties and departments, we discussed the value of writing and asked ourselves the question of whether, in this age of AI, the thesis is still the best choice for a final assessment at the end of a programme.
