On 27 June, 2024 Dr Maaike Matelski of VU Amsterdam, Anthroplogy Department, presented her forthcoming book 'Contested Civil Society in Myanmar' at the annual conference of the Development Studies Association at SOAS in London.

Dr Matelski together with human rights analyst Minn Tent Bo, she discussed the implications for the current situation in Myanmar since the 2021 military coup. Pictured here with Stephen Wenham of Bristol University Press.
