In-between stories are stories about young people growing up between cultural, religious, social or institutional worlds. For example, they have dual nationality, are the first in their family to go to university, or have a stormy past in mental health or detention, for example. They are in-between, learning to combine different worlds and move between different expectations. These young people are often approached from a problem definition. In the Library of in-between stories are stories about young people growing up between cultural, religious, social or institutional Stories, young people are given space to tell their own stories and find strength in their in-between position.
This library contains stories full of strength, courage and perseverance, told through film, podcasts or music. It is about being allowed to be yourself in between different worlds, about stories that go against limiting scripts and incomplete images. During the symposium, you will get to know the online Library and the Masterclass in-between Stories.
The Library is the outcome of co-creative research starting from the interests and experiences of young people in in-between positions. An initiative of InHolland, HvA, VU, UvH, Sociaal Cement, Sitara, Criminal Minded and Fonds ZOZ.
