During the General Members' Meeting on June 13, they welcomed two new board members, including Matthias Bickelhaupt.
Matthias Bickelhaupt, Professor of Theoretical Chemistry at both VU Amsterdam and Radboud University Nijmegen, is known for his groundbreaking work on chemical bonding and reactivity. He has received numerous awards and research grants, including the prestigious NWO VICI grant. Matthias played a key role in founding the KNCV section on Computational and Theoretical Chemistry (CTC) in 2017 and was named a KNCV Fellow in 2023. Regarding his new role, he says: "I am deeply honored to take on the role of vice-chair and look forward to working with the board to further develop this important professional association and support our scientific community."
