VU Amsterdam secured the top spot in the Mobility & Logistics category at the Zuidas Sustainability Awards last Thursday. The university won with its innovative VU Green Travel Grant, a scholarship urging students to choose train travel for exchange programs.
The award ceremony, in its second edition, celebrated sustainable initiatives in Zuidas across various categories such as Mobility & Logistics, Water & Green/Open Spaces, Circularity & Waste, Society & Economy, Buildings & Energy, and Climate/General.
As sustainability takes center stage at VU Amsterdam, the International Office introduced the VU Green Travel Grant to motivate students to opt for eco-friendly train journeys to their exchange destinations. Students who do so, can receive up to 185 euros based on the distance to their destination, making sustainability both rewarding and accessible.
