Last month, VU Amsterdam made a decision to embark on a new course for the energy transition. This change of direction means that the university will only enter into new research collaborations with fossil energy-producing companies that demonstrably commit to the goals of the Paris Climate Agreement. The university acknowledges the value of collaborating with knowledge institutions and companies in the fossil energy sector but seeks partners who share the same responsibility and urgency for the energy transition. Now is the time to initiate the follow-up process of this decision.
