SBE joins select group of business schools with EQUIS accreditation

15 December 2023
VU School of Business and Economics has secured initial EQUIS accreditation, positioning the school among a select group of institutions recognized for their commitment to continuous improvement, innovation, and global impact. Building on its earlier success in February 2022, when it became the first business school in the European Union to obtain dual AACSB Business and Accounting accreditation, SBE now has a third internationally recognized accreditation.

Quality

EQUIS, the European Quality Improvement System, is a leading international system of quality assessment, improvement, and accreditation of higher education institutions in management and business administration. Arjen van Witteloostuijn, the Dean of SBE, expressed his pride in this achievement, stating: "Obtaining not only AACSB Business but also Accounting accreditation was a milestone. Now, with the addition of EQUIS accreditation, we are further solidifying our position as a global leader in business and economics education. It reflects our unwavering dedication to excellence and the tireless efforts of our exceptional staff and students."

Network

Beyond the recognition of high-quality education and research, this new accreditation places SBE within an elite international network of business schools. The collaborative opportunities offered by this network open doors to new horizons in educational development and research. Many international partnerships and joint educational programs between universities often require the coveted AACSB and EQUIS accreditations, making SBE a popular partner on the global stage.
