You want to pay for your sandwich at the campus Spar, but you can't because you have no cash on you. However, the moment you want to walk away you get help from an unexpected source. It happened to professor Jacqueline Muijlwijk- Koezen. She sent a letter to AD Valvas magazine and put the unknown merciful student who came to her rescue in the spotlight. Read the submitted story below.
I wanted to enter the Spar, but a staff member indicated that only cash payments could be made. As I turned around and walked down the stairs a student approached me and offered me coins. "Is this enough for you ma'am?" I indicated that was more than enough, and that I only wanted to buy a sandwich because I still had cheese in the fridge and that he needed to send me a tikkie. I really didn't have to, I could just have the money and if necessary he could provide more money he said. I embarrassedly replied that surely it would be too bad if students had to maintain the faculty board. But he answered it was no problem at all. As I sit behind my desk with my fresh cheese sandwich, donated by an unknown student, I rejoice our students.
