Hendriekje Bosma, the former curator of the VU University's art collection, passed away last August 8.
In the 25 years she worked as curator at the VU, she organised countless exhibitions and purchased work by important artists at an early stage, often in the form of a commission. In doing so, she laid the foundation for the current art collection displayed on campus. Apart from having a nose for talent, she was a striking personality. With her free spirit, guts and humour, she managed to connect the visual arts and the academic community in an inimitable way.
