Dr. Imran Avci and Dr. Mahdi Mozdoor Dashtabi receive NWO grant for cancer research
Dr. Avci and Dr. Dashtabi recently developed a new measurement method (patent filed) that is ultrasensitive and provides femtometer resolution in real-time. They also discovered that this method can solve the alignment problems of existing photonic microchip based biosensor concepts. During Take-off grant, they will apply this method to optical biosensing to detect cancer biomarkers at an early stage.
Concerning the grant's Take-off phase 1, which involves conducting feasibility studies, academic institutions and inventive start-ups have the opportunity to assess the commercial or social viability of their innovative concepts. The feasibility studies are for both academic applicants and start-ups from Applied Research Organisations (TO2).
