Share
5 October 2023
This is a fungi-meet-AI artwork by Thijs Biersteker in collaboration with the Computational Intelligence Group, Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam.

Experience the fluidity of intelligence with the artwork. This groundbreaking AI-powered artwork challenges our notions of intelligence, intertwining ancient fungal networks with modern AI.

As you engage with the artwork, witness the dynamics shifting from directive to subservient, mirroring our evolving understanding of intelligence. This harmonious blend of recycled materials and cutting edge technology offers a glimpse into the future of biology and technology interaction. ‘Fungal Faculty’ invites us to embrace new perspectives on intelligence, sparking a bridge of understanding between humans and alternative forms of cognition.

The Fungal Faculty is currently on display at the ground floor of the NU building at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam.
