Van der Duijn Schouten is a university administrator with a great track record and strong ties to our university and faculty. His expertise and reputation make him the right candidate for this challenging position. As dean, Van der Duijn Schouten, together with the two incumbent vice-deans, will focus on representing FRT's interests in the exploration of the faculties of FRT, FGW and FSW. In addition, he will pay attention to perpetuating and/or strengthening the faculty's relations with the various seminaries and the Protestant Theological University (PThU).
Frank van der Duijn Schouten explains: "Since theology – as an academic discipline – has always been close to my heart, I look forward to further strengthening the positioning of theology and religious studies together with the colleagues in the faculty. A beautiful and important task, which I am happy to underpin."

The appointment took place after coordination with the faculty board and a positive recommendation from the faculty participation council.
