The symposium is popular and attracts Alumni from all over the world. One alumnus explains that he travelled from England because he did not want to miss the symposium. And that is not surprising. With evocative topics, the speakers managed to enchant the students and alumni for a few hours. For instance, top executive Cees Visser spoke about his experiences at, among others, the Leiden University Hospital and NWO (Netherlands Organisation for Scientific Research), Associate Professor Danielle Vugts gave a fascinating presentation on the latest developments surrounding the use of chemistry in the diagnostics of serious diseases, and Professor Pieternel Levelt spoke inspiringly about her work as head of the US Atmospheric Chemistry Observations and Modelling Laboratory.
Afterwards, there were drinks and symposium participants were able to chat and network.
