Winning team on digital tools at M&O Teaching Day 2022

After a Covid-induced pause, we made a fresh start and spent a fun and engaging day together, dedicated to teaching. After an energizing opening of the day by Mirella Kleijnen, our dean of education, we learned a lot from our colleagues from the VU Education Lab Network for Teaching and Learning (Silvester Draaijer and Charlotte Meijer) and our very own SBE Support team Stephan Eltink and Dion Dresschers. After that, four colleagues shared their experiences and best practices with regards to time management (Janina Klein), giving feedback (Jakob Stollberger), and thesis circles (Viktor Gilsing). Special mentions go to Neil Thompson for his workaround for Speedgrader! We then teamed up to form four roundtables, on the topics of designing and grading exams; digital tools; thesis supervision; and time management. Finally, we started the tradition of the M&O Teaching Day Awards! The winning team of the inaugural award presented their ideas about using digital tools, and the team members were Janina Klein, Radu Atanasiu, Maral Darouei, and Charlotte Meijer. The organising team consisted of Christine Moser, Francesca Bacco, Alexander Gorgijevski, and Rafael Wilms.
